Two Livingston area attractions receive top awards from local magazine

The Board and Brush Creative Studio, which recently opened in Livingston, has been named as ‘Most Fun DIY Night Out’ by the New Jersey Family magazine.

Readers of the magazine were asked to vote for their favorite activities in and around the state. Winners were selected in categories of Me Time, Good Eats, Fun Stuff, and Outdoor Faves. Board and Brush was voted the most fun night out under the Me Time category.

Julie and Craig Schachter, residents of Livingston, own the Board and Brush and opened the do-it-yourself (DIY) workshop in March. The concept involves woodworking to create fun home décor to bring home or give as a gift. Guests can bring food, wine, and friends with them as they create their individualized woodworking projects.

The Essex County Turtle Back Zoo, a neighbor of Livingston in West Orange, was awarded favorite zoo, as a sub-category under Fun Stuff. The magazine commented that the zoo is constantly changing its exhibits to maintain interest in the attraction. Penguins from South Africa were recently added to the collection of lions, monkeys, and giraffes, and an exhibit of flamingos is scheduled for the fall.

Flyer printing can be used by such attractions to give more information about their offerings, prices, hours of operation, and other details.
