Summer book sale comes to Livingston Library

The annual Pool Prose and Beach Books Sale is coming up at the Livingston Library, sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

It is expected that there will be about 7,000 books and other items for both children and adults. Grownups will have a range of fiction books, with categories to include romance, general fiction, classics, and mysteries. Children will be able to choose from both fiction and nonfiction books, and they will be sorted by age, with sections for children, young readers, and young adults. There will also be games, puzzles, stuffed animals, and other tabletop toys.

Proceeds from the sale will go to support the Library and its many activities. Some of the programs include Yoga for Kids, the Children and Teens Summer Reading Program, and several series including Literary Liaisons and Music Matters.

Other activities which the Friends support are the E-reader Experience Program, which enables patrons to borrow e-readers already loaded with books for children or adults, and subscriptions to the Book Page, a monthly newsletter with author interviews and book reviews that is distributed across the country.

The sale will be held Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Sunday, June 7, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The use of flyer printing companies by the Friends of the Library is one way to inform the community of the sale and generate enthusiasm in reading and libraries.
