The new entrance of the Bouras Emergency Department at the Overlook Medical Center of Atlantic Health Systems is now open.
This is part of a larger plan of the entire hospital to expand and enhance its services. The new entrance will facilitate access for patients to emergency services at Overlook, and improve the comfort, safety, and security of patients during their visit. Residents of Livingston in need of such services may want to receive treatment here.
The entrance redesign spans just over 2,000 square feet and has a lobby, entrance to the emergency department, and triage area. Other improvements include ventilation that increases the circulation of outside air and increased safety for staff, visitors, and patients as work continues to end the pandemic. Flyer printing services are often helpful in informing the community of such new developments.
Alan Lieber, president of Overlook, said that the past year has demonstrated the importance of the emergency department. He added that when patients come to the hospital, it is important that they receive exceptional care as soon as they come through the entrance. He said that the redesign was focused on patients and providing for the best healthcare possible.
Chief operating officer for Overlook, Lauren Yedvab, said that this is the first of many improvements the hospital is planning to expand the care it already provides to its patients.
