High school seniors in Livingston can sign up for the inaugural Senior Internship Program, which will begin later in the academic year. This program will enable students to work as interns in a local school, business, or agency that is within 20 minutes of Livingston High School over a period of four weeks.
Program managers Colleen Cornell and Maggie Wohltmann said that this program provides an ideal opportunity for seniors to explore their academic and career interests prior to graduating from high school. They added that the program will enable these students to gain experience in the real-world, develop valuable skills, and build relationships with local businesses and agencies. The agency or business that participates in the program will benefit by mentoring the employees of tomorrow and providing guidance with the skills needed for the workforce.
From May 26 through the week before graduation, students will learn at their internships off-site rather than attend classes. They are expected to spend a minimum of 20 hours per week at their internship. More details about such programs are often provided by brochure printing.
One of the Senior Internship Program Coordinators will supervise the students and hold periodic meetings with them. During their internships, students will submit weekly Journals to the coordinator. Once the internship is concluded they will make a presentation with details and reflections on their experience.
