Livingston hospital recognized once again for outstanding service

The Leapfrog Group has awarded Saint Barnabas Medical Center (SBMC) in Livingston its “A” Hospital Safety Score rating.

The Leapfrog Group is an independent national non-profit organization run by employers and those who purchase of health benefits. This is the 19th year in a row that the hospital has received this award. It is one of 27 hospitals in the country, and the only one in the state that has earned an “A” in each report since Leapfrog began these surveys.

President and CEO at SBMC, Stephen P. Zieniewicz, FACHE, said this distinction of receiving 19 consecutive “A” grades and being one of only 27 such hospitals in the United States demonstrates the commitment of the hospital to its focus on the quality and safety of all its employees and physicians. Banner printing is often used to make such accomplishments known throughout the community. Zieniewicz also expressed his gratitude toward all those who work at SBMC for their continued dedication.

President and CEO of the Leapfrog Group, Leah Binder, said that such a rating is an elite designation of which the entire community should be proud, particularly as the past year has been an extremely difficult one for hospitals, and this award has shown that it is possible to remain focused on patients and their safety even in challenging circumstances.
