Library events in Livingston

Residents of Livingston, New Jersey, have an easily available resource—their library, which has several fun events coming up.

First up is a Children’s Summer Concert with the duo Play Date. This comprises husband-and-wife team Greg Attonito and Shanti Wintergate. Attonito is a member of The Bouncing Souls, a punk rock band that first got together in 1989 and is based in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Wintergate is a songwriter who creates the fun material.

Working together, the couple have created music for the entire family featuring kid-friendly songs that include bits of pop-punk, Americana, pop, dancehall, and garage rock. The music may be suitable for children, but adults will enjoy it as well.

The library is also hosting its first Tiny Art Show. This does not refer to a children’s event, but to the size of the painting. Participants will be creating their artwork on 4”x4” canvases, which will then be displayed so patrons can vote for their favorites. There will be three winners, and the library will provide all materials.

Play Date will appear at the library on August 6 at 4:00 pm, and the Tiny Art Show is scheduled for August 16 at 7:00 pm. The art will be on display from August 19 to August 25. Registration for the painting event begins August 1. When events like these are set up, organizers can use flyer printing to create handouts to be distributed in the local area announcing the programs.
