Director of Livingston’s Senior, Youth and Leisure Services (SYLS) department, Jennifer Walker, was recently named a Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE).
The award is one of the most distinctive honors that a person in a municipal recreation department can achieve. She is the second person in New Jersey to receive this honor.
Walker received a commemorative plaque at the latest township council meeting, at which were her family and Mayor Al Anthony. Printing services can be used to create congratulatory Signs for such occasions and other materials to make such accomplishments known to the community.
Anthony said at the meeting that Walker is only one of two people in the state to receive this certification which places Walker at the top of her profession. It demonstrates her ability to lead and manage all aspects of the department and that she has been able to master the management of personnel resources, fiscal property, and policy development.
Walker grew up in New York State and lives in West Caldwell. In 2009, she joined the Livingston Township family and since then has been on many committees related to fundraising, programming, and finance. All programming in the community is the major function of her department, and includes overseeing the summer camp, the two aquatic facilities, and a program for special needs individuals.
