Gourmet eatery holds burger challenge

Zinburger, an upscale hamburger restaurant with locations in Clifton and Paramus, both close to Livingston, is holding its fourth annual burger contest.

Burger fans were invited to submit their creations for burgers by the end of last month by posting them on Facebook and Instagram. This month, from tomorrow through September 21, chefs from the restaurant and those on Facebook will select the winning the burger. September 22 is when the winner will be announced.

The burger will then be featured on the restaurant’s menu for one week between October 5 and October 11 at the 10 locations that Zinburger has on the East Coast. The winner will also receive a $100 gift card.

Some of the criteria for judging the burgers will include taste and visual appeal, creativity, name of the burger, and use of seasonal ingredients. Another one of the criteria is the ability of the person who submits the recipe to participate in media promotions, which may range from commercials and videos to Print media, where flyer printing companies may get involved in creating a special flyer about the contest, the winner, and more details about the victorious burger.

Zinburger specializes in made-to-order gourmet burgers, handspun floats and shakes, pies, and 23 varieties of wine. In addition to its three locations in New Jersey, it has restaurants in Nanuet and Huntington Station in New York, as well as locations in Florida.
