Cycling to raise funds in Livingston

An upcoming event in Livingston is planned to help raise funds for research into rare Forms of cancer.

Cycle for Survival brings colleagues, friends, and family members together to race to find cures for the disease. Anyone who wants to take part in one of the organization’s races is free to do so – all they need to do is register. If they are unable to attend a physical race, people are welcome to participate in a virtual event.

Every cent raised is donated to the clinical trials being conducted at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), the largest and oldest private institution in the world dedicated to cancer research and treatment. Cycle for Survival donates the funds to the center annually.

The Livingston run will take place at the Eisenhower Corporate Campus. Organizers suggest that participants refrain from bringing excess personal items, and arrive in the gear they plan to wear during the race. Since the event is outside, riders should dress for changeable weather, and organizers suggest even those with cycling shoes should bring sneakers. Participants will get a T-shirt and any other gear they have earned from the official Apparel sponsor, Vuori. Food and drinks will also be available.

The event is May 6, and there are two “shifts,” one from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm, and the second from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Banner printing can be used to create Signs to mark the course for events like this.
