Celebrating the 4th in Livingston

After canceling many events, Livingston is again celebrating the 4th of July in person.

Among the planned festivities are an auto display, a swim, games, live entertainment, and fireworks. The day begins with a patriotic opening ceremony, which is followed by kids’ activities and family fun.

First up is the Kiwanis’ Swim Karnival to be held at the Haines Pool at 10.00 am, with games and other activities going on all day.

An important part of the fun is the Annual Auto Fest, which will be held from 9.00 am until 3.00 pm in the parking lot of the Livingston High School, located on Wahler Road.

Food trucks will be on site beginning at 3.00 pm, and the Beer & Wine Café opens at 3.30 pm. Attendees must present their ID and be 21 years of age or older to purchase beverages. Entertainment on the Main Stage will start at 7.45 pm, and the day will wind up at 9.15 pm, with the Fireworks Spectacular. Outdoor events like this can benefit when organizers use banner printing to create signage identifying specific areas.

The date, of course, is July 4th, and all the events will be held in or close to the Memorial Oval, located on Robert Harp Drive. Porta Johns, both handicap-accessible and regular, will be available at the Oval, and general parking is the lot of St. Philomena’s Church. Handicapped persons will find parking in the lot of the library.
