New residential towers planned for Jersey City

Plans are underway to build two more towers to add to the tallest residential building in the state, the Urby tower in Jersey City.

The two additional towers will be 61 stories high and will connect to the existing Urby towers, with an eight-story podium to match the height of the other tower. These will be built on land that is situated across the street from the first tower. These new towers will have 1,606 total housing units, over double that of the original tower, which has 762 units.

There is an option that 164 of the new units be set aside for hotel use. Of the remaining units, 383 will have two bedrooms, 1,128 will have one bedroom, and 95 will be studios. There will be no units designated as affordable housing. More details about the features of such apartments is often provided by brochure printing.

These new towers will be mixed-use buildings, and there will be 32,000 square feet of retail space. There will 272 spaces for vehicular parking and 809 spaces for bicycles. The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail stops directly outside the new towers and the stop of the Exchange Place PATH is one block away.

The Dutch architecture firm, Concrete, which designed the first tower, is one of the firms that is working on the project.
