The Healthy Communities initiative of RWJBarnabas with additional support from appropriations by the state have funded these grants to improve health outcomes for residents and address issues that affect health so stronger communities can be created.
Four projects will receive funding. The North Hudson Community Action Corporation will be able to work on their goal to work on the root causes of poverty and improve the quality of life for residents across northern New Jersey.
Funds to the Kearny Department of Public Health and Environmental Protection will go towards improving the navigation of resources that will enable residents of low socioeconomic status to be connected to social services and preventative healthcare. Funds for the Youth Foundation of Jersey City will enable it to strengthen and expand systems od support across 15 public schools.in Jersey City. Funds for the Hudson Pride Center Mental will enhance existing resources and services and support health and wellness initiatives.
