Mayor James Solomon has appointed Ruby B. Choi, as the new business administrator of Jersey City.
Business card printing services are often called upon when new appointments are made.
Choi’s responsibilities will be to oversee the daily operations of the city’s government, help deliver services to over 280,000 residents, and manage the city’s departments. She is a resident of the city and has 16 years of senior leadership experience in New York City. Her work there focused on operational reform, strategic planning, modernization of technology, and improvement in the delivery of services.
Her most recent position was as deputy commissioner of strategic initiatives at the Office of Technology and innovation of New York City. She led a strategy of emerging technology that had a budget of $7 million in major technology projects and a department of over 6,000 information technology employees. She served as acting chief technology officer starting in January of this year.
Solomon said that the city deserves a government that is responsive, efficient, and works for the working population and Choi is the ideal person to enable the city to build that government. He added that her career has focused on making government work better in many ways that have included bringing rigorous strategic planning to large organizations modernizing how residents access services. He expressed his thrill that she will be part of the team.
