These all-way stops will be at intersections on Palisade Avenue, Nelson Avenue, Martin Luther King Drive, Brunswick Street, and Bergen Street. These changes were found to be warranted following a traffic engineering analysis. This analysis done by a traffic engineering consultant was commissioned by the Department of Infrastructure of the city and it found that stop control at all four corners was appropriate at these intersections to improve traffic operations and safety.

All-way stops at certain intersections in her ward were welcomed by Councilwoman Eleana Little, who said that these changes have been sought by resident for many years. She thanked the Department of Infrastructure for moving this project forward and is looking forward to seeing these streets safer.
The ordinance was also praised by Councilman Jake Ephros who noted that the all-way stops in his ward address concerns raised by residents in the Heights. He also expressed his appreciation for the Department of Infrastructure for:
“getting on top of this so we can make our streets safer in the Heights and beyond.”
A second reading of the ordinance received final approval so the city can begin to install the stop signs at the intersections designated.
