Construction is currently underway on the first all-encompassing headquarters for public safety in Jersey City.
The project will be part of a wide range municipal complex on the city’s south side and will bring thousands of jobs to the area, many of which may require business card printing. The new headquarters will be 11 stories in height. The cost of construction is expected to be $120m.
The building will have conference rooms, municipal offices, and a communications center which with an emergency dispatch. The inaugural Police and Fire Recruitment Center will be established and feature a new fire and police museum so that students can make field trips and learn more about the two departments. Printing services are often used to provide additional takeaways from such events.
It will be the fourth municipal building that has been erected in the past five years in Jackson Square and is part of an investment of $200m from the city to build new offices in that area that serve as the home for several departments in the city, including Jersey City employment and training, health and human services, development and commerce, and the future public safety department. It is also an effort to bring businesses and people into the area.
The new public safety headquarters is expected to be completed in 2022.
