Jersey City police to receive specialized training

Tomahawk Strategic Solutions, LLC of Nashville, has been awarded a contract for additional police training in Jersey City.

This will be tactical training for the sustainment and continuing education of the Emergency Service Unit for Jersey City police officers. This contract is under the New Jersey State Contract for the Department of Public Safety.

News of such training and their benefit for the community can be made known with various kinds of printing services.

Peter Horton, deputy city manager, said there will be four instructors throughout the term of the contract who will focus on entering spaces that are small and de-escalating the situation. Horton added that the medical portion of the training will focus on psychological de-escalation as well as triage, first-aid training for those who are the first ones on the scene, and related topics.

Horton went on to explain that training is conducted through roleplaying with scenarios that have instructors who are specialized with professional experience and training. He said the officers will have the instruction they need as well as situations in real-time that they might encounter.

Richard Boggiano, who has had 26 years of experience as a police officer and is now Ward B Councilman expressed his high regard for Tomahawk and said, “they’re a good organization."

The contract for this training will run through November 4, 2025.
