Industrial building in Jersey City gets makeover

Commercial leasing has begun by Kushner and KABR Group for the Arts and Powerhouse Building which has been newly renovated in Jersey City. This building is on Bay Street in the Powerhouse Arts District of the city.

Built as the warehouse of the Great Atlantic and Pacific (A&P) Tea Company in 1913, the building is six stories high. The renovation cost $30 million and preserves the historic character of the building. It also introduced modern retail settings and work environments that are appropriate for business in today’s world.

The building has 135,000 square feet of rentable loft-style, flexible commercial, retail, and office space that blends contemporary amenities and design with restored industrial elements. Commercial spaces can be from 4,000 to 100,000 square feet, have access to an amenity deck on the rooftop of 10,000 square feet with views of Manhattan, and open layouts. Such developments can benefit from brochure printing to highlight their features and amenities.

The Managing Member of KABR Group, Adam Altman, said that the A&P Building has authenticity and character that is not often seen in the commercial and office markets of Jersey City. Altman added that the loft-style layouts, its foundation in industry, and a setting that reflects the creative roots of the neighborhood, the building offers an experience that is more like some districts in Manhattan, such as the Flatiron and Meatpacking districts.
