Two scares for price of one in Freehold

Freehold, New Jersey, is offering two separate scares for people who attend a special event.

The Hall of Records is the place to be for the upcoming Spooktacular Special Movie Night, planned by the Halloween Spooktacular committee who have partnered with Downtown Freehold for a series of October events.

The movies are shown on an outdoor screen, and this year, the committee is planning a double feature, showing a family-friendly movie first, and then running a second film geared for audiences ages 17 and over. A break between the two will give people a chance to take the smaller goblins home before the scarier movie begins.

The first movie on the schedule is “Beetlejuice,” the original, which was released in 1988. Directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton as the title character, the horror/comedy is about a deceased couple who are forced to remain as ghosts in their home. They hire Betelgeuse (Beetlejuice) to scare the new owners away.

The second feature is one of Universal’s great classics, “Frankenstein,” released in 1931. The film is based on Mary Shelley’s book about a scientist who “builds” a creature.

The Spooktacular Special Movie Night is October 4, starting at 7.00 pm. Those who are planning on watching only the second film should be at the location by 9.00 pm. Organizers of events like this frequently contact printers who then use poster printing to create suitable advertising.
