A popular global celebration is now scheduled and Freehold residents will eagerly be awaiting the full schedule.
Oktoberfest will take over Freehold’s West Main Street this October, the third time the city has organized this event. The festival stretched along West Main between Throckmorton Street and Court Street. The streets will be closed for the event. A Beer Garden will be set up where people can enjoy beer, food, and other products provided by attending vendors. Seating and tables will be provided.
Although the lineup for this year is still being finalized, Freehold officials reminded residents of last year’s band, which included Step Aside, the Jimmy & Gene Duo, The Gab Cinque Band, Wicked Revival, and Swedish Meatballs. There is no word yet on which, if any, of these artists will be returning.
Last year’s participating breweries included ‘Bout the Hops Brewing, Birdsmouth Beer, Artis Brewery, and Twin Lights Brewing. As before, there is no confirmation yet from these organizations, but it is likely some will participate.
Oktoberfest is not just a party, but a celebration to honor a royal wedding. It’s generally believed that Oktoberfest is held in honor of the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria to Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen, which took place on October 12, 1810, in Munich. The public was invited to celebrate the occasion, and a worldwide spectacle was born.
The 2025 Oktoberfest is scheduled for October 5, from 12.00 pm until 5.00 pm. Events like this can benefit when organizers use banner printing to create suitable decorations.
