A special event in Freehold will celebrate the standardbred horse.
The Mane Event is the SPHO-NJ Year End Awards Banquet, an evening celebration of standardbreds and the people who love them.
The evening begins with a cocktail hour during which both cold and hot hors d’oeuvres will be served, followed by dinner. Diners will be able to choose one of three premium entrées for their meal. A dessert pedestal with multiple choices will be available after dinner, and a premium open bar will be open during the entire event.
The top horses and exhibitors will be honored during the awards presentation, and there will be door prizes and a raffle. After dinner, everyone is invited to dance and continue the celebration.
SPHO-NJ stands for Standardbred Pleasure Horse Organization of New Jersey. The non-profit organization was established to promote this type of horse for both competitive and pleasure riding. It does so by holding exhibitions and competitions that show the standardbred to the public. The SPHO also wants to educate others in the equine community about the suitability and versatility standardbreds have and what make them a good choice for post-racing careers.
The banquet is set for Sunday, February 15, from 5.30 pm until 10.30 pm at the Radisson Crystal Ballroom in Freehold, and cocktail attire is requested. When events like this are planned, organizers can work with flyer printing methods to create elegant Menus for the evening.
