The phrase “burying the hatchet” means to resolve differences peacefully, but two organizations in Freehold are giving it a whole new definition.
Bury the Hatchet Axe Throwing is teaming up with Pitties & Pals Rescue to raise funds to support the non-profit organization. The 501(c)(3) group states its mission is twofold – to educate the public and to rescue dogs. It focuses mostly on pit bulls, which are often viewed as dangerous animals, but it is dedicated to helping any dogs that are in need.
Pitties & Pals uses several different approaches to saving dogs, including removing them from situations in which they are at risk, whether they are with an owner who needs help with the dog, or are already in a shelter. The goal of the group is to have the dogs adopted, but it is sometimes necessary to find foster “parents” to train and socialize them before they are made available for adoption.
Bury the Hatchet is throwing this party on January 15, from 12:45 pm until 3:00 pm, at 916 Park Avenue, Building 9, Suite 2 in Freehold. Tickets are $50 and the price includes soft drinks and pizza. Attendees are welcome to bring their own wine and beer provided they are 18 and older, but are asked not to bring spirits. Events like this can be advertised if organizers use flyer printing to create handouts for local distribution.
