An upcoming craft show in Farmingdale, a short distance from Freehold, promises to be a lot of fun for everyone.
The Spring Craft Show will feature more than 120 crafters and artisans, along with historic demonstrations, exhibits, and more, all to kick off the season for people who enjoy crafts.
The venue is the Historic Village at Allaire, a living history museum. Once upon a time, the Village was a “company town” for the Howell Iron Works, Co. The Village was self-sufficient, containing a school, boarding house, bakery, a blacksmith, a carpenter, a blast furnace, and more. Iron made at Allaire was sent to New York City, where it was used to make parts for steam engines in a factory James P. Allaire also owned.
The historic site is perfect for a craft fair, and for artisans to hold demonstrations. Living historians will be demonstrating their skills at the Tinsmith, Blacksmith, and Carpenter shops, and more than 120 local artists will have their works for sale including textiles, pottery, paintings, and more. A food truck will also be available, so people can spend the entire day.
The Spring Craft Fair is set for April 27, from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm, with a rain date of April 28. Admission for those six and older is $5.00, and all proceeds go to support the Village’s educational programs.
