As the seasons change, concerts come back to Freehold.
The Downtown Freehold Fall Concert Series returns with performances that bring people to the shows from throughout the area.
The upcoming concerts start with Jobonanno & the Godsons of Soul. The group is an eight-person cover and party band from the Jersey Shore. They have been performing for more than 20 years in venues like Camden Yards in Baltimore, and Bally’s Ballroom in Atlantic City. They have shared the stage with artists like Bruce Springsteen, and opened for Marshall Tucker, James Brown, and more.
Next up, it’s the Motor City Revue, a twelve-piece outfit that covers Stax and Motown classics. Unlike many Motown tribute groups, the Revue matches the instrumental mix and vocal stylings heard on the original recordings.
Almost Santana is a seven-member group founded by Richard Rodrigues, who was formerly with The Nerds. The group comprises professional musicians who are passionate about Carlos Santana and his music.
The final concert is The Gumbo Gumbas. As the name implies, they play the music of New Orleans, mixing rock, funk, R&B, jazz, and the New Orleans specialty, zydeco, into a fantastic musical experience. They also tell stories about New Orleans as it was when the music was composed.
Jobonanno appears September 4, the Motor City Revue on September 11, Almost Santana plays September 18, and The Gumbo Gumbas appears September 25. The venue is the Hall of Records. To publicize events like this, organizers will often use poster printing.
