Freehold is planning a series of events to start the holiday season, including carolers and brunches with Santa. Among the activities is lighting the tree.
Monmouth County and DowntownFreehold.com are hosting the community’s Annual Tree Lighting, which will take place at the Hall of Records. In addition to the ceremony, rumor has it that a special guest will be escorted to the event by the Freehold Fire Department.
In addition, hot cider will be provided by the Court Jester, a local restaurant, and live entertainment will be courtesy of the RockNRoll Chorus, which has performed at the Tree Lighting in past years. The group, which was founded in 2007, is unique in that it sings without instruments. It has had 15 different casts over the years, and has opened for, or shared the stage with, artists such as Judy Collins, Foreigner, Sara Bareilles, and Bruce Springsteen.
The group has also been nominated for several Grammys and is proud of the work it has done on behalf of charitable groups. It has performed for such organizations as the NJ Epilepsy Foundation, NY ALS, and the American Cancer Society.
The Tree Lighting is set for December 7, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held the following evening, December 8. Flyer printing can be used to create colorful handouts that offer an excellent way to advertise events like this.
