Comedian to bring laughs to Freehold
An acclaimed comedian will soon visit Freehold as part of his US tour.
Bob Nelson, a native of Massapequa, New York, began his career in stand-up comedy when he was studying theater in the 70s at Nassau Community College. He has since become known for his “rubber-faced” characters like Eppy Epperman, an adorable nerd, and Wilby Stuckinson, a chicken rancher.
Nelson has developed a routine featuring a parade of football players that has become a classic, as has his story “Morning,” about a duck and a farmer. Nelson uses his observations of everyday life to create his skits, meaning that audiences all over the nation can relate to him.
He has made multiple television appearances, and given thousands of live shows across the country at a variety of venues, from clubs on the Las Vegas strip, to college campuses, to Radio City Music Hall.
He opened for the legendary Rodeny Dangerfield for eight years, and appeared on two of Dangerfield’s HBO comedy specials, along with stars like Sam Kineson and Rosanne Barr. He has won an Emmy Award, and has appeared in several films, including “Kindergarten Cop,” which features star Arnold Schwarzenegger. A review of the show says:
Nelson will be at the American Hotel in Freehold on November 17, with the show starting at 8.00 pm. When major shows like this are announced, promoters can use poster printing to create colorful advertising for the event.
