A colorful event for everyone is coming to Freehold.
The Third Annual Butterfly Color Run/Walk is planned, with proceeds going to support the Stephanie Nicole Parze Foundation. Color runs involve spectators or crew members throwing colorful, non-harmful, dye on participants, typically using one color at each location, so runners end up with a rainbow of colors by the end of the event.
There are lots of fun activities planned on the day of the race. The gates will open at 10.00 am, and more experienced runners will be able to start the race at 11.50 am. Those who prefer to walk the course, or who do not have as much experience, will start at 12.00 noon.
In addition to the run itself, a fishing derby is available to those 14 years of age and younger. They will need to check in by 7.45 am to begin fishing at 8.30 am. Prizes and trophies will be awarded. There is a 60/40 cash prize split, and the first, second, and third place finishers will win trophies.
There is no age limit on the cornhole tournament, however. Everyone can enjoy the activity, which starts at 11.30 am, with a check-in time of 10.00 am.
The run is set for October 1, from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm, at Lake Topanemus Park in Freehold. Outdoor events like these benefit when organizers use banner printing to create signage, since it is weather resistant.
