Summer series begins in Londonderry

A popular series of concerts is back with music that will appeal to everyone.

The Londonderry Arts Council is presenting this year’s concert series featuring jazz, blues, and rock. The series starts with a performance by the Londonderry High School Jazz Ensembles and Orchestra, the two groups who traditionally open the season.

The second performance features Neurotic Gumbo, a nine-piece band that plays classic rock and is known for an elaborate horn section, which features three players. They have appeared in this series of concerts before.

The next performance will bring the Brian Maes Band to the stage. Brian also appears with Barry Goudreau, who was once the lead guitarist with Boston, one of the supergroups of the 1970s. Brian has arranged for Barry to appear with his outfit for the sixth year.

The final June concert changes the pace slightly to the blues, with the Bruce Marshall Group featuring James Montgomery. Montgomery has toured with artists like Bruce Springsteen and Aerosmith, while Marshall has proven his chops in 10 prior appearances in the series, playing Southern Boogie, rock, R&B, and the blues. Programs for events like this can be created by organizers using brochure printing.

The Jazz Ensembles and Orchestra appear June 6, Neurotic Gumbo is scheduled to take the stage on June 15, Brian Maes appears June 22, and Bruce Marshall is set for June 29. The concerts take place on the Londonderry Town Common.
