A special dinner is being planned to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
The Westbrook Inn in Derry, a short distance from Londonderry, is the venue for the upcoming Valentine’s Dinner at Westbrook. Chef Michael Arrastia will oversee the food, Bully Boy, a craft distiller, will be on hand with alcoholic drinks, while entertainment will be provided by jazz musician Eric Lindberg.
Chef Arrastia has planned a menu inspired by his Puerto Rican heritage. He is the Bacon Gastropub’s executive chef, and under his leadership, the Worcester restaurant won the title of Best New Restaurant in Central Massachusetts, as well as Best Brunch in the State. He has appeared on “Man vs. Food” on the Travel Channel, and on “Guy’s Grocery Games,” hosted by Guy Fieri, which appears on the Food Network.
The four-course meal starts with Crema de Platano Verde, a cream of plantain soup, followed by a scallop and shrimp ceviche comprising these popular seafoods marinated in herbs and fresh citrus. This will be followed by a pork rib “lollipop,” made by shredding slow-cooked pork, adding mashed plantains, wrapping the combination around a rib, and wrapping that with bacon. Dessert is a tres leches (three milks) cake flavored with coconut and mango. Events like this can be enhanced with Menus that explain the dishes, which organizers can create using brochure or flyer printing.
The dinner is set for February 11, from 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm. The Westbrook Inn is at 49 South Main Street, Derry.
