North Pole visitor to stop in Londonderry

Santa is planning to visit Londonderry, but will be giving his reindeer a well-earned rest for the day.

Instead, Santa will arrive via helicopter, which will land at the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire. Even if weather makes it impossible for the chopper to fly, the Jolly Old Elf has assured fans that he will arrive on time, at the designated location. Organizers of outdoor events of this type can use banner printing to create sturdy, seasonal decorations.

Those who would like to watch the chopper land should plan to be at the museum 15 minutes before the arrival, to give them time to park and get to the observation area. The area is spacious, with room to observe social distancing.

Once he arrives, Santa will sit on a throne outdoors, which will be equipped with a microphone. The Big Man will be able to take requests from children via the mic, and the children who visit with him (socially distanced) will receive goody Bags. The use of the microphone and the outdoor location are deliberate decisions made to keep attendees at the event safe and healthy. Although masks are not required at outdoor events, wearing them is encouraged.

Santa’s arrival is set for Saturday, December 11 at 11:00 am. He will be at the museum taking requests until 1:00 pm, when the airport fire department will take him away on a fire truck. The museum is on Navigator Road and the event is free.
