A short race will usher in the new year in Londonderry.
Millennium Running are the organizers of the upcoming Millennium Mile. The company operates more than 30 Signature Road Races, Triathlons, and timing services for more than 130 annual events. With its efforts, the company has raised around $1 million for local charities and $5 million for its partners.
In Londonderry, the upcoming Millennium Mile is one of its signature races. This is a downhill, point-to-point, one-mile route starting in front of Londonderry High School on Mammoth Road. There is a decline of 77 feet over the mile. Since the distance is so short, numerous runners have broken the hallmark “four-minute mile” since the first Millennium Mile run in 1999.
After the race, Coca-Cola Northeast will provide Powerade and Dasani water, and Stonyfield Organic will provide fresh bananas. Finishers can redeem their beer tickets at the Backyard Brewery after the run. Organizers of events like this can use banner printing to create fun decorations suitable for the holidays.
The race is scheduled for January 1, starting at 2.00pm. People who want to pick up their bibs early may do so on December 31, from 10.30am until 3.00pm, at the Millennium Running Retail Store in Bedford. They may also pick up bibs and register on race day itself, from 12.30pm until 1.45pm at the parking lot of the Matthew Thornton Elementary School.
