Londonderry offers clinic for unusual patients
A clinic will be available in Londonderry soon to ensure some cuddly patients receive the medical attention they deserve.
The medical care will be available at the Second Annual Teddy Bear Clinic, which will be set up in the Common Room of the Londonderry Police Department.
Volunteer nurses will staff the clinic, and will be on hand to give annual check-ups to stuffed animals belonging to local children, who are encouraged to bring their furry friends in for their annual exam. Events like this are often advertised with colorful posters, which can be found at print shops around the local area.
The event is designed to introduce children to medical procedures in a safe setting and with an amusing dimension to it, so they will be less fearful or anxious when they have to see a doctor in the future.
The clinic will also give children, as well as adults, a chance to interact with community officials in a less stressful situation than the usual interaction between first responders and residents. Members of both the police and fire departments will be on hand to assist with the event.
