Employment expo prepares to visit Londonderry

A college education is not in everyone’s budget, nor does everybody necessarily want to go. An upcoming event in Londonderry will give people a chance to explore an alternative—becoming a skilled tradesperson.

F.W. Webb is presenting the Bring Back the Trades Skills Expo, which is brought to the public by Londonderry High School, the Rotary Club of Londonderry, and the Londonderry Police Department.

The expo will give people who are interested in these careers a chance to talk to professionals in the industry, whether they are considering construction, electrical work, HVAC, or plumbing. The expo organizers say there will be scholarships awarded and opportunities for internships available.

The trades that will be attending include construction, transportation, service, and manufacturing, and each is further divided into specialties. Under construction, for example, the specialties include steamfitter, carpenter, electrician, HVAC technician, and bricklayer.

Transportation specialists include automotive service technicians, bus and train operators, heavy equipment operators and technicians, auto body painters and repairers, and a CDL truck driver.

Service positions include medical assistants, landscapers, and chefs, and manufacturing positions include tool makers, millwrights, and welders.

Bring Back the Trades 2025 is scheduled for April 26, from 9.00 am until 1.00 pm, at Londonderry High School. People who attend events like this have the opportunity to take Business Cards from the vendors and companies who are participating in the show.
