Summer is always rich with outdoor events, especially music and movies, and Londonderry is joining in the fun next month.
The city has just announced the schedule for the upcoming series of Concerts on the Common, and it kicks off with the Londonderry High School Jazz Ensembles and Rock Orchestra. The concert will be the final appearance of the graduating seniors, which makes this a special performance.
The next group will be the Windham City Swing Band. Based in a neighboring town, the band is one of three groups comprising the Windham Community Bands—the Concert Band, Flute Ensemble, and Swing Band. The bands were founded in 1997.
Next on the schedule is Bruce Marshall and the Shadow Riders. Marshall has attended the festival for the past ten years and this year is bringing The Shadow Riders. The six-piece outfit is a tribute to the Marshall Tucker Band, which plays hits like “Fire on the Mountain” and “Can’t You See” with Marshall as the frontman.
Raquel & the Wildflowers rounds out the schedule. She and her outfit are known for their blend of rock and roll with traditional country.
The high school ensembles perform June 7, followed by the Windham City Swing Band on June 14, Bruce Marshall and the Shadow Riders on June 21, and Raquel & the Wildflowers on June 28. Organizers of events like this could use banner printing to create decorations for the outdoor venue.
