What's Happening in Youngsville, NC…

Youngsville to hold inaugural fair

The first community yard sale event will be held by the Franklin County Arts Council (FCAC) in Youngsville later this month.

This will be a combination of an art fair and flea market in which local businesses, individuals, and artists can rent space to display and sell their work. It is a fundraising event for the FCAC. Such events often use poster printing around a community to promote such efforts and raise awareness of their contributions to the community. In addition, there will be games and arts and crafts for the children and a food truck rodeo. Admission to the fair is free.

The price to rent space is $40 for businesses and artists who are not members of the Council and $25 for individuals and artists who are members. Proceeds of the rentals will go to the Council to enable it to provide programming for the community.

The fair is also looking for volunteers to help prepare for the event. Volunteers need to be of high school age and older. Among the tasks that need to be taken care of are talking to local businesses to ask for sponsorships, creating social media posts, and working on the day of the event.

The parking lot of Capital Auto Auction on Long Mill Road is the location for the fair, which will run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 22.
