What's Happening in Youngsville, NC…

Two colleges collaborate on pathway to law degree

A memorandum of understanding has been agreed upon by Wake Forest University School of Law and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical (NC A&T) State University. This will establish a pathway for highly accomplished students at NC A&T to enter as full-time residential students in the J.D. program at Wake Forest Law.

Students in nearby Youngsville who are attending the state university may well be interested.

Brochure printing can be used by both institutions to provide more details about this program and its requirements to help garner interest.

Two students will be in the first cohort in the fall 2025 at Wake Forest Law. Each year two promising candidates will be identified by NC A&T by February 1 to be enrolled in the following fall in the J.D. program. Candidates need to be alumni or current seniors at NC A&T, have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.50, and at least a score of 156 on the Law School Admission Test. Those who are selected for this program will also receive a scholarship of at least $35,000 a year.

Associate professor of biology and director of the Pre-Professional Scholars Program, C. Dinitra White, Ph.D., expressed her pride in partnering with Wake Law on this program as it will increase awareness of the profession and help to remove barriers for those who not have previously been able to pursue this career.
