Gaming competition to come to Youngsville area

The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department of Wake Forest will host a virtual Esports gaming tournament next month. Residents of nearby Youngsville who enjoy gaming and related competitions will want to attend.

The “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” game will feature. Brightspeed Fiber Internet is hosting the tournament, known as “Battle in the Forest,” and is for those who are 10 years of age and older. Twitch.tv will be livestreaming the event.

Print shops can help spread the word about such events throughout a city and neighboring communities with mailers, Flyers, and other printed materials.

Those who participate in the event will compete in a one-on-one, double-elimination competition. “Bull City Gaming” is partnering in hosting this competition. The winner of each match will be those who win two out of three games. The championship match requires winning three out of five games.

Winners will receive prizes like Nintendo consoles, wireless controllers and game cases. Barton College Esports will be donating an Esports scholarship to the top three winners. There will also be an incentive prize drawing for a Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Nintendo Switch Game for all participants.

Registration is open through Wednesday May 27, and the tournament will take place at noon on Saturday May 30.
