Dates scheduled for trio of holiday events

The dates have been confirmed for two traditional holiday events in the Wilmington area, as well as a newer one returning after a successful first year.

The holiday season starts with the North Carolina Holiday Flotilla in Wrightsville Beach on November 27, which is a nautical parade featuring all manner and sizes of watercraft decorated and lighted for the season. Immediately following the parade, an approximately 20-minute, 4,000-round firework display, complete with musical accompaniment, will take place.

Poster printing services help get the word out about special events in plenty of time for people to make their plans.

Due to the pandemic, the Flotilla was cancelled last year and a Door to Dock Decorating Contest was held in its place. This proved so popular that it is being held again this year. Judging will start November 26 and be finalized by December 4, with winners announced on December 5. It is likely that many of the docks will remain decorated throughout the whole holiday season.

Also, the Airlie Gardens’ Enchanted Airlie in Wilmington brings to life 35-acres of woods with holiday displays, music, and sparkling lights that illuminate paths for its night-time visitors. This will be the 16th year for the event, which will open Thanksgiving weekend, November 29 to 30, and then every evening from December 3 to 22. Ticket sales start at 9:00 am today (November 3).
