What's Happening in Clinton, NC…

Clinton welcomes yearly barbecue cook-off

The Clinton Square Fair and Barbecue Cook-Off will return to downtown Clinton this October.

As the downtown area’s largest annual event, it is full of a ton of activities for local residents, as well as an opportunity to barbecue aficionados to show off their skills.

Live music will fill the square at the intersection of College Street and Main Street. In addition, there will be a “Milling Around” art installation hosted by the Sampson County Arts Council, as well as a number of other interactive art activities.

For people in love with learning, the Sampson County History Museum on Lisbon Street will be up and running during the event, offering free exhibits and demonstrations to participants throughout the festival.

Finally, a car show will round out the activities, featuring a live broadcast on Oldies 1170 AM with Bob Stroud and the Boogies Shoes Network. With a focus on classic cars, participants are encouraged to register their cars at the City Market before the show. The Ol’ Lightning Rods Antique Car Show will also happen on Lisbon Street, at the Clinton City Market, as part of the festival.

Food festivals like this may choose to use flyer printing to get the word out in the community or for signage for competitions or cook-offs.

The Clinton Square Fair and Barbecue Cook-Off 2025 is happening on October 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Clinton.
