New nursing building for Kalispell

Ground has been broken on a new nursing education building in Kalispell. Members of the community, Logan Health, and Montana State University (MSU) participated in the celebration.

Banner printing is often used at such sites to announce the coming of such important facilities.

This facility is one of several buildings of the Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing of MSU that are being built across the state, including Great Falls, Bozeman, Billings, and Missoula. The nursing programs currently operate out of buildings that are leased but now new facilities will be built across the state to provide the needed study areas and classroom labs and meet the needs in the state for nursing and healthcare.

The Dean of Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing, Sarah Shannon, said that this building will enable the college to increase its enrollment, and produce more nurses that will meet the needs of the community of Kalispell and beyond. Over 100 nurses graduate a year from MSU and close to 80 percent of them remain and work in the state. It was a donation of $101 million from Mark and Robyn Jones which made this educational institution possible.

Mark Jones commented that the hard work entails building the facilities, recruiting faculty, and working with all the students. He expressed his pride in working with everyone to help take care of the people of Montana.
