Horses and skiers to compete in Kalispell

Whitefish Skijoring, an iconic tradition during the winter in Montana that brings together the world of skiing and horses, will be coming to Kalispell this weekend.

This will be the 20th anniversary of the event and will feature two days of family-friendly and fast-paced activities.

The first day will require competing riders and skiers to check in followed by an evening at the Dusty Star Saloon.

The second day will feature Skijoring Races, where teams of skiers, riders, and horses race along the course. This will be a family-friendly event that will start at 11:00 am with the professional division taking on the course in the afternoon. There will also be the Calcutta Auction, which is open to the public. People will be able to bid on their favorite skiing teams during the evening. Fatt Boys Bar and Grille will be open to all from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

There will be more Skijoring Races on the last day, also starting at 11:00 am, with the professional division working the course in the afternoon. Awards will be announced later in the day, including those who won in the Calcutta Auction. The Midway Tavern Restaurant will be open starting at 6:30 pm.

Poster printing is often used throughout a region to promote unique and special winter events like this.

Whitefish Skijoring will run from this Friday, February 13 through Sunday, February 15.
