New residential development comes to Kalispell

Ground has been broken on a residential development on Tronstad Road in north Kalispell. The project is to be called Whitetail Crossing.

The project was approved by the Kalispell Planning Commission and city councilors in 2024 and was then annexed into the city to allow for the density specified for the project.

The property spans 110 acres and is east of US Highway 93. It will have 353 lots with single family homes, of which 70 percent has been secured for the first phase. The builders are Star Construction and Terry Homes. Lots will range in size from 6,000 to 19,000 sq ft and there will be four phases in the project.

The development offers panoramic views of the Mission Mountains and Glacier National Park. The project promises to offer an ideal location for those looking for expansive living spaces and growing families. Its location offers easy access to Flathead Lake, the town of Whitefish, and many other amenities in the Flathead Valley. It is hoped that this project will help address the housing shortage in the area and fill a need for the local workforce.

Owner of Terry Homes, Inc., Merna Terry, said:

“Whitetail Crossing represents an exciting addition to the Kalispell community, providing thoughtfully planned housing options to meet the needs of our growing region.”
