Grants have been awarded to 14 teachers in Kalispell by the Kalispell Education Foundation (KEF) to support opportunities for innovative learning in the classroom.
KEF is a non-profit organization that raises funds for the Kalispell schools and supports the educators in the district through grant programs and awards. It has awarded close to $200,000 to teachers in Kalispell since 2009.
This fall, teachers can utilize the Great Opportunity Grant Program to request an amount up to $2,500 to support a project that is unique and will enrich the academic experience of students through literature, science, music, and other creative activities. The funds this year will go towards an outdoor adventure book library, ukeleles, classroom mailboxes, and audiobooks, among other tools to engage students in the classroom.
The grant program this fall was supported by partners in the community that included the Don K Family Foundation, KGEZ Radio, Glacier Grins Pediatric Dentistry, Whitefish Credit Union, and Glacier Bank.
News of such grants and their benefits for students and the community can be made known with flyer printing,
Executive director of KEF, Dorothy Drury, expressed her thrill in being able to support these initiatives that will greatly benefit the children in the community. She added her gratitude to those members of the community and businesses that are committed to supporting success in teaching and learning in Kalispell.
