Billings hosts important agricultural conference
Labor shortages are a problem in today’s US agriculture industry, but industry leaders will soon gather in Billings to seek solutions.
The Montana Stockgrowers Association has announced its Ag Labor Summit for late January. The two-day summit will focus on the labor shortage problem within Montana agriculture, including domestic labor pipelines and using non-immigrant workers. Producers, policy experts, and other stakeholders will gather at the conference to discuss possible solutions in a collaborative environment. Business cards and other graphic design products are often useful at conferences.
Beef producers have a long history of cooperation in Montana. The Eastern Montana Stockgrowers Association was formed in 1883, with a second group, the Montana Stockgrowers Association, forming a year later. The two merged in 1884 and have been serving the industry since. Today, the organization offers many services to its members, including the Ranch Weather Radar system, the Environmental Stewardship Award Program, and the Wildfire Relief Program. Its educational offerings include the Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Conference and the M Bar Leadership Academy.
The Ag Labor Summit will be held January 21-22, 2026, at the Northern Hotel in Billings. A number of rooms are blocked for attendees, and reservations must be made by January 6 for special pricing and availability. Attendees should reference the Ag Labor Summit when making reservations. Those interested in further information may visit the organization’s website.
