An investment of $6.8m has been proposed by the parks department and the county executive to add three more fields, while another $8m will go towards building a new administration building for the park. The building would have locker rooms for players and referees, and a classroom, among other amenities. The lighting at the park would be updated and additional ADA-compliant parking would be added.

Executive of St. Louis County, Dr. Sam Page, said:
“We’re just coming off the World Cup and that took the country by storm.”
He added that this excitement presents an opportunity to build on the increased interest in the sport across the country. Page said the new complex will have a press box which will provide an advantage for the complex to attract larger tournaments and keep pace with other venues in the Midwest.
The process to expand the complex could take as long as two years. The county government needs to discuss the proposal and appropriate the funds. Following this, an official request for proposal can be developed and distributed, which takes half a year, and then another year will be needed to build the complex.
