There will be a 5K Walk for the Park at Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park in May. Residents of nearby St. Ann who enjoy such events and their fundraising efforts may want to take part in this walk.
This is the third year of the walk, run by the St. Louis County Parks Foundation. A family-friendly event, participants will be able to enjoy a morning outdoors while giving back to Creve Coeur Lake Memorial, as 100% of the net proceeds will benefit the park and support its necessary improvements.
Registration is $40 for adults and $15 for children 12 years of age and younger. A free T-shirt will be given to those who register while supplies last. Sponsorships are also available ranging from a Traveler sponsor of $500 to a Pioneer Sponsor of $5,000. There is limited availability for a Title Sponsor of $7,500. Such events rely on flyer printing distributed throughout a city and neighboring communities for promotional purposes, and to highlight their fundraising efforts.
Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park became the first County Park in June 1945 when 400 acres of land was donated to the county. In 1969, the county purchased all the land surrounding the lake, including a subdivision east of the lake.
This 5K Walk will be on Saturday, May 9 beginning at 8:00 am.
