Mixed-use development to come to St. Ann area

A developer is proposing to reshape some of the campus Bayer has in Creve Coeur into a mixed-use development offering public green areas, retail space, and residential units. This new development might be of interest to those in nearby St. Ann.

The southeastern section of the entire property, which spans 151 acres, will be purchased by Larry Chapman, a developer. Bayer is expected to leave this section of 90 acres but continue to operate its Crop Science headquarters on the remaining campus.

The development will have an apartment complex, 63 single-family homes, a building for senior living, and space for commercial and retail establishments. Chapman said:

“What we're trying to do is repurpose a number of the buildings, build some new, and do a mixed-use development that will be vibrant, encourage a lot of activity. We want to be an asset for the community, not just the people who move their businesses there.”

Brochure printing can be used to provide details on the planned features and amenities of such projects.

Although some neighboring the campus have expressed concerns about the project, Chapman emphasized that a thorough examination of the impact to traffic is planned, helping guide improvements that would enhance safety for both people on foot and those traveling by vehicle.

Chapman now needs to submit a plan to the Planning Commission for its approval.
