The 6th annual Harvest Hootenanny will take place next month in Columbia. It is hosted by, and is a fundraiser for, the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture.
The event is a celebration of local food and everyone who attends will enjoy a Missouri-raised sit-down meal with coffee, tea, beer, and wine. There will also be information about urban planning that includes gardens and hands-on educational activities for those of all ages.
Guests will be entertained by live music, games, and the photo bus. There will be children's games, a raffle, and a beer garden.
Organizers are still looking for volunteers to help with this event. They can put up Flyers around the city, help with cleanup or set up, man the front gate, or serve in the beer garden. They will receive a T-shirt. For those who are planning to volunteer, there will be an orientation on September 9.
The flyers that volunteers will be distributing in the city will no doubt come from a Columbia printing company.
The Harvest Hootenanny will be held at the Urban Farm on September 12 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, or on the rain date of September 13. Admission is a $10 suggested donation, with an extra $10 for admission to the beer garden.
