With the fiscal year ending on June 30, the University of Missouri has announced it has received a record amount for cash donations and pledges this year.
The Columbia Campus received donations of $151.9m, a combination of cash and pledges.
Fundraisers as successful as this one take considerable time and work behind the scenes. Often, those who are involved in the efforts will work with a local Print company to obtain assistance with the likes of Flyers, Mailing services, and Brochures.
The University has many projects in which it intends to use the donated funds. One of the top priorities announced by University President, Mun Choi, is to build a Transitional Precision Medicine Complex. This complex is a research lab project. The team is currently working on setting priorities for the project, which is projected to cost approximately $150 million.
The Intercollegiate Athletics group raised just over $50m and intends to use the funds at its Memorial Stadium to expand seating.
In all, the university obtained donations from about 40,000 sources, likely including individuals and groups. Almost two dozen of the donators contributed over $1m.
Alexander Cartwright, the university’s Chancellor-designate, stated that the classrooms, playing fields and research laboratories will benefit from the contributions. All involved are grateful to each supporter who helped them break the fundraising goals this year.
