Columbia will soon be playing host to a special event that will prove that one can never be too old to have fun, all while raising money to help local kids get the best start in life that they can.
The Central Missouri Grannies, which is a team made up of women who are over the age of 50, will be taking on the women and men form the Missouri State Highway Patrol. This hotly contested rematch of the March 2017 game will see if the Grannies will be able to retain their title as winners, and the game will follow the rules that were in use back in the early 1920’s.
Along with the game, the audience will have a chance to maximize their contributions to the cause by taking part in the even split draw and silent auction, which will take place before the game begins. Donations will also be appreciated. Staff members will be on hand to provide more information about Child Care Aware Missouri, and the whole afternoon will be family friendly, with all ages being welcome. Printing services for a function like this can be supplied by an area printer.
Columbia’s Smithton Middle School will be the venue for this event, which will be held on November 18. More details can be found on the Child Care Aware website.
