The Homeless Awareness Conference is taking place in Columbia over two days next week, presented by the Governor's Committee to End Homelessness (GCEH).
This year's theme is ‘Home for Good’ and it aims to start a discussion on a problem that is cropping up in several major cities in the United States.
The opening remarks will be delivered by Randy Sharp of GCEH and attendees will be welcomed by Jennifer Tidwell from HUD. Those attending can choose to participate in any three of several discussion sessions during both days.
Topics to be discussed include the effect of homelessness on childhood education, how to work with ex-offenders, the obstacles to youth employment, and the consumer-operated programs that seek to provide homes for people. There will also be displays from nonprofit organizations and community groups that are fighting against homelessness.
There is also set to be a networking reception at which people can discuss what they learned with their peers, exchange digital Business Cards, and possibly make new connections.
It is likely that many of those planning to attend this important conference will be placing a new business card printing order with their regular Columbia printing company.
The Homeless Awareness Conference will be held from November 19 to 20 at the Hampton Inn and Suites. Admission is free. To find out more, visit the GCEH website.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
